Can metformin affect fertility in a lady? I am asking this for a colleague of mine who had been tested for fertility issues. The prescription was given to increase and improve her insulin resistance. This would later on improve the likelihood of ovulation. As usual we obliged to the prescription. Little did we know it would not give us positive results. Life seemed bleak but we could not lose hope. It was a struggle we couldn’t bear. So, we decided to seek the best gynecologists at our disposal for guidance and counsel. Different tests showed that she could not sire a kid due to the previous diagnosis of PCOS. The situation she was in required urgent attention to avoid permanent infertility. We then made up our minds to visit the nearest hospital for further clarification. Struggles mounted more pressure to us and we couldn’t tell what else to do. The cost of treatment was unbearable and the hefty fees we could not afford. We tried to put everything together but to no avail. She was in dire need of a child. The only thing left now was Ivf egg donation. But where could we do it?
