I gave birth to my daughter when I was seventeen years old. Having a child at such a young age is not something that I'd planned but it was a good decision. My daughter has been the driving force to help me get my life together. Before she was born, I was a slacker, a loser. I did not care about my life. I had dropped out of school. I hung out with the wrong crowd. I was not ready to be a mom, but I'm glad it worked out this way. After she was born, I got my GED and got a job. I had to leave my daughter with my mom during the day so that I could work. This was a hard choice as I missed so much of her young life.

Now that I'm pregnant with my second daughter, I can see all the things I would change about the way I will raise her. I'm in a stable relationship now, with a good job. I am paid by the hour and work many hours every day but I consider myself very blessed and lucky to have this life now. I have a man that loves me and my daughter and we created this beautiful life that is inside me now. Life is not always easy for a woman, especially a young mommy.

But, the reward is seeing my daughter's beautiful smile at the end of the day when she wraps her arms around my neck and says, 'Mommy I love you!' This is the best life ever. I could not wish for more.

I'm very glad your life is working out so well and this time around you will feel such sweet joy when your baby is born.

Young or old, all mommies have a common bond. And, the only thing that matters is how much you love your children. Being a mom is about sacrifice, doing things you didn't think you were capable of, enduring pain that you never knew you would have to go through. But, we do these things for our children's sake. And, we do it gladly. I'm very happy for every precious moment that I have with my children and very happy to bring another beautiful soul into our home soon. :)
