Hello all!! I just recently turned 18 years old and my mom and I are planning to undergo Lasik. I have heard about Lasik from my friend who has undergone the Lasik a few months back. My mom is troubled with presbyopia and I'm troubled with nearsightedness since my childhood. Far objects were appeared blurry and I remember those days I used to copy notes from my neighbour. I remember an incident which made me cry for the whole day. When I was 10 years old there was a teacher who was very rude and I was so scared of him. He wrote a question on the board and told m tell the answer I was getting panic and I was so scared and I couldn't answer his question. He shouted at me. That day evening my mom took me to the nearby clinic and he prescribed eyeglasses. My bf suggested wearing contact lenses but it troubled me a lot. Our ophthalmologist suggested monovision for my mom. I researched a lot for LASIK and monovision and I've heard that monovision is hard to adjust to and can impair nighttime vision, which is not good because she usually drives after late night shopping. So we are proceeding with Lasik eye surgery ( http://www.clearviewinstitute.com/ ) from an eye clinic in Toronto. Can someone share the pros and cons of Lasik? How long does Lasik take?
Lasik is being used more and more... It is a new technology but it is developing rapidly. Which means that it is a great thing. You don't have to worry about it. Lasik doesn't last too long... The best thing about it isn't that tho. The best thing would be that your vision will be back to normal in the blink of an eye. Plus there is the fact that recovery time after Lasik is very short. I don't have exact time frames but I know it is short. The cons are basically none. Or at least none that I can think of. Go for it my dear. I just hope that everything will go fine. God bless you!
