The other day, my daughter asked me, 'When will I be a big girl?'. All this time, I have been calling her my 'little girl' and I think she feels like she is way too old for this now. I know that part of this is my fault as I am trying to keep her a little girl. She wants to grow up. But, I feel like nine years old is way too young to be doing the things a preteen or teen might do, such as go to the mall with friends. I don't know what to tell her. I asked her to please not rush into adulthood so fast and to enjoy being a child as you only have that time of your life once. What would you have said?
