So far, we have told our three year old that 'mommy is having a baby' and that's about all. She knows the baby is living inside mommy's tummy. I don't think she needs to know more but she seems very fascinated by my ever expanding belly. What are your thoughts on explaining pregnancy to a very young child or toddler? For instance, would you bother saying when the baby is expected to be born or do you not think a toddler would understand that?

Haha, this is very cute. I really love children. It is great to see you deal with them. it gives me hope and determination. That I will be there one day too... As of right now IVF is really hard. However that is a story for another time. I am really happy to see that you are direct with your kid. Like that you will teach them that there is no need for secrets. If it was me in your position I would use something like the Stroke story. A mutation of that story to be exact. Something on the lines of mommy is getting ready for the stork to bring the baby! Maybe this will help him understand a little better. Wish you all the best dear. God bless you...
